Kadynce
Hey my name is Kadynce Perkins, currently the President of the Appomattox FCCLA chapter. Before joining FCCLA, I was very quiet and kept mostly to myself. I rarely spoke up and felt uncomfortable presenting in front of others. Public speaking was something I avoided whenever possible, and I lacked confidence in my leadership abilities.
Through FCCLA, I have grown both personally and professionally. FCCLA pushed me outside of my comfort zone and gave me opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and lead. By participating in meetings, events, and presentations, I learned how to express myself clearly and confidently. Presenting in front of others is no longer something I am scared of anymore.
Competing in STAR Events further strengthened my skills, and I earned 2nd Place at the State level. I was honored with the Emerging Chapter Leader Award from my advisors.

These experiences have made me into a more confident, outgoing leader. FCCLA has played a major role in helping me grow into the person I am today and has prepared me for future leadership and career opportunities.
